UVT GROUP have many year experience in the design of airports and aviation technology. Our work is underpinned by a range of analysis, calculations and simulations of many aspects of airport functioning and flows that ensure our design is verified and performs to the highest level.

Passenger flow incorporates time for all stages of passenger service from check-in, baggage drops and passing security through check points to time in Duty free zones and for gate departure. The calculation also takes into account the schedule of flights, the daily load of the airport and much more.

An important feature of the simulation is that it considers variations in people’s behavior according to varied passenger demographics. This includes deviation from the typical flow trajectory and different behavior of married couples with children, without children, and of individuals. All that makes it possible to identify potential bottlenecks of passenger flow throughout the airport as well as understanding the maximum throughput potential of the entire complex. The heat maps show the density of people per square meter according to ICAO standards.

The red zone corresponds to 1.5 sq.m per person, which is within the allowed level according to requirements of the ICAO (International Civil Aviation Organization).

The airport is at an elevation of 481 feet (147 m) above mean sea level.

It had one runway designated 08/26 with a concrete surface measuring 2,841 by 44 metres (9,321 ft × 144 ft).[2] The airport is currently owned by its major airline partner Dniproavia. This has resulted in a number of management problems and has slowed the airfield's development as Dniproavia has, on a number of occasions, refused to be forthcoming with the required funds to undertake a comprehensive modernization program. In addition to this, foreign airlines have found it difficult to gain access to Dnipro as a result of Dniproavia's protectionist policies along routes to and from the airport.

In 2011, the airport's owners initiated a program to develop a new terminal complex. This project envisaged the construction of a large new international terminal, similar in specifications to the newly built terminal at Kharkiv International Airport. However, the construction was soon frozen and, as of 2017, building work has not progressed beyond the laying of foundations. In September 2020 the completion of a new runway and terminal was foreseen for late 2022 or early 2023
